President signs executive order on Russian G20 presidency
President Dmitry Medvedev signed on Jan. 25, 2012 the presidential order, "On Organizing the Committee for the Russian Presidency of the G20 in 2013." The order came into effect on the day it was signed.
The order contains clauses on forming the committee in 2013 and appointing Sergei Ivanov, the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office, as its head.
The order also indicates the need to coordinate and approve the list of major events to be held during Russian presidency of the G20 in 2013. The government has been tasked with financing these events.
The document is supplemented with the approved provisions on organizing the committee, which describe in detail its rights and its responsibilities.
