B20-L20 call on G20 Leaders to support Quality Apprenticeship Systems
In a joint statement issued in Geneva on June 18, global representatives of workers and business, who speak on behalf of their constituents within the G20 process as the Labour 20 and Business 20, called on the G20 Leaders to prioritise quality apprenticeships as a key means to alleviate high levels of youth unemployment, as well as to assist in up-skilling older workers to meet the challenges of a changing world of work.
The Business 20 and the Labour 20 actively and constructively contributed to the work of the G20 Employment Task Force on apprenticeships.
The social partners will hold a joint press briefing on July 17 in Moscow. Next day, on July 18, they will meet with the G20 Labour Ministers' for joint consultations.
